Multiple Sclerosis
Living with Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis may cause sexual problems
MS is a neurologic disease that can wreak havoc on a person's physical and emotional well-being. Symptoms of MS, such as muscle weakness, numbness or problems with bladder function, can affect one's ability to have or enjoy sex. Both the physical changes people experience and the psychological impact of these symptoms can make it difficult for people with MS to feel sexy and enthusiastically maintain an intimate relationship. But there are many ways to manage the physical, emotional and body image issues that can affect people with MS. People with these MS-related problems should talk to their doctor or consult a MS counselor to find the best ways to approach their individual situation.
